Sign The People’s Declaration and join the movement to shape the next 250 years of democracy.

What Is The Declaration?

The 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence is not just a historical milestone—it’s a call to action. Democracy must evolve, or it will collapse under the weight of injustice, disconnection, and power hoarding.

The People’s Declaration is our collective commitment to a democracy of care, belonging, and justice.

It affirms that:

  • Democracy must be of the people, for the people—not for corporations and the powerful.

  • Governance must center care, equity, and radical belonging—not fear and division.

  • A just future requires courageous accountability, not cycles of harm and oppression.

  • We the people are the weavers of democracy—together, we shape what comes next.

We the Future: Of the People, For the People

A New Social Contract for Democracy’s Next Chapter

In 1776, the Declaration of Independence laid the foundation for a radical experiment in self-governance.
But 250 years later, that experiment is at a crossroads.

Democracy, justice, and belonging remain ideals rather than realities for too many. If the promise of democracy is to be fulfilled, we must reclaim it—not just for some, but for all.

We the Future is an invitation:
To reimagine governance.
To take democracy back into the hands of the people
To create a new social contract built on care, justice, and equity.

This document is not a statement from the powerful.
It is a declaration from the people.
It is a living document, co-created by those who refuse to let democracy be dismantled.
It is a call to action, a vision for the future, and a commitment to collective responsibility.

What We Stand For

We, the undersigned, in pursuit of a just, free, and thriving society, declare the following foundational principles:

1. Democracy is of the people, for the people. We reject governance that serves the few at the expense of the many. Decision-making must be rooted in participation, transparency, and accountability.

2. Every human being deserves dignity, justice, and belonging. Our systems must be reimagined to prioritize:

  • Human needs over profit

  • Equity over exploitation

  • Care over control

3. Truth, knowledge, and education are the pillars of a free society. We reject disinformation, censorship, and the weaponization of ignorance. A well-informed people are the foundation of a just democracy.

4. Our collective well-being depends on environmental stewardship. We do not inherit the earth—we borrow it from future generations. Climate action is both a moral and practical imperative.

5. We believe in radical belonging. We reject the politics of division, fear, and othering. Our strength is found in unity, diversity, and shared purpose.

6. The future must be co-created. This document is not a final statement—it is a beginning. It will grow and evolve as more voices join this movement to shape a democracy that works for all.
